Potential malware switching search engine and homepage

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Since yesterday, my chrome browser keeps switching to yahoo as its homepage and default search engine, even though its not in the list in settings. the address bar says: http://uk.search.yahoo.com/?type=293224&fr=spigot-yhp.

On the google forums it says to delete the spigot file in program files but I cant locate it. I have run malware bytes, which found some issues, but once removed the problem still exists. I am getting a lot of malwarebytes pop-ups saying it has blocked access to a high risk website. even on here.

I have tried to run the dds as specified in the other thread, but I get a message saying that "dds is not meant to run in combatibility mode, and will now close"

Can anyone help with what I am to do now?

Double click on each in turn until one version of Zoek will run (accept UAC) The following window will open:

Copy and paste the following script from the code box and paste into the field.

Select the "Run Script" tab. The following window will open:

Please be patient and do not use the PC when the scan is in progress.

When complete you maybe asked to re-boot your PC, if so please do
