When I type something into Google, the search results page are filled with links that look very weird. When I scroll over a link with my mouse, on the bottom of the screen instead of showing the URL, it shows something like:

http://www.google.com/url?... and then is followed by a long jumbled string of numbers and letters.

I did antivirus scans and malware scans and found nothing. This just started appearing on my Firefox web browser a few days ago and I don't know if it's some kind of tracking or redirecting as I have been hesitatnt to click on any of the links.

When I type in the same stuff in google on my work computer, I don't have this problem. Plus, my friend uses Firefox and he doesn't have this problem.

Can anyone tell me what it is? Is it something I should be concerned about?

Thanks.

Hi there Rich,

I recommend you follow these instructions: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9573

It kind of sounds like you have a goored infection, but the symptoms are a bit different; so it could just be something to do with google or firefox or it could be malware. It's better to find out and be on the safe side.

Regards,

Adam
