Is MBAM an anti-virus

Hi, I just bought MBAM, pro I think it is called. However, Windows security tells me that I do not have an anti-virus. I tought that MBAM was an anti-virus. What gives. Do i have to buy another anti-virus.

malwarebytes, is not an anti virus, its an anti malware program, its meant to run along side your anti virus, as another layer of security.

There are free versions of antivirus.  Two of the more common ones are avast and Avira.

Choose one only - do not run more than one antivirus program on the computer at the same time.
