Hello

Whilst the offer is still on I would like to ask if I am alllowed to install this on my main PC and also my laptop..? I would be using only one computer at a time. Or is it for a single item use....?

If that would be ok how many PC's would I be able to use this on with the one license purchase...?

Thanks for your help.

Hello and :welcome:

Malwarebytes actively enforces a one license-key & ID per computer policy. The reason behind this is that we offer a one time payment of lifetime licenses which include our RealTime Protection Module, IP Protection, scheduled updates and scans as well as software upgrades. However, we do offer discounts at the point of sale when you purchase multiple copies. Licenses are transferable from old machines to new ones.

We also feel the one time-life time fee offers the best value over many other subscription based security software that require yearly payments.

To view consumer volume pricing go to the link below:

https://store.malwarebytes.org/342/?scope=checkout&cart=29945

Then click the link titled 'More info', directly across from 'Price scales'', you will be presented with a new, smaller window showing the discounts.

1 license - $24.95

2 licenses - $22.45 = 10 % savings

3 to 9 licenses - $19.95 = 20 % savings

10 to 20 licenses - $18.75 = 25 % savings

For business or commercial/government/non-profit licensing complete the webform below:

Well that is totally up to you, but remember these are life time licenses that can be transferred to another computer if you replace the one its currently installed on. You will never have to buy a license for that once computer again. Other software require you to pay up every year.

As for Windows Firewall Control (I never heard of it myself) but I know it does not do the same work that Malwarebytes will do for you.

In addition to Firefox's excellent, expert advice, there were some "Black Friday" deals available online.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/blackfriday/

I don't know what time zone you're in, but you still might be able to take advantage of this?

Just a thought.

Cheers,

(P.S. Neither Firefox nor I work for MBAM.)

(P.P.S. As Firefox also mentioned, MBAM PRO is NOT an anti-virus and is NOT a firewall. It is an anti-MALWARE program. I am also unfamiliar with "Windows Firewall Control", but it doesn't sound at all similar to MBAM.  <Just sayin'>)

Thanks for the replies :)

I used the WFC example to illustrate their licensing terms flexibility, in that the product is per user and not per PC - IIRC up to five installs.

I appreciate that its functionality is not comparable to that of what MBAM offers but, loosely in this case, is part of the multi layered approach to a systems protection.

Question please.......

I decided to (just under the wire deadline) order the lifetime license.  It is sitting in my Win 7  "downloads" area.

On this same computer, I already have a paid for MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Pro that is coming up to expiration in a few months.  (I can' find the receipt or key or anything for it for some reason; I am usually good at keeping those things, but I do believe it is due to expire soon.)  It has a number of PUP's quarantined that I want resolved. Should I just keep the new downloaded lifetime version where it is in the Win 7 d/l area until I am ready to un-install the Pro version ?   Can I "transfer" the quarantined items to the  newly installed lifetime version should I execute it into existence ?  The reason I ask this is because I think I need documentation of receipt and/or key for the existing Pro to have current support, don't I ?  (As I indicated, I don't have that.)  With the newly downloaded, lifetime version, I have the fresh receipts and key.

Would be grateful for recommendation.  Thanks in advance !

Hmmm. That's very odd.

I'm confused.

Consumer licenses for personal use of MBAM PRO on home computers are currently a one-time, "lifetime" purchase, with no renewal or expiration.

Are you sure that your MBAM PRO license is "coming up to expiration"?

Perhaps you are referring to the expiration of the free, 14-day trial of MBAM PRO??

Or perhaps you have a renewable business or commercial license for MBAM PRO??

If you purchased MBAM PRO online from the MBAM store, you would have a confirmation email from the e-commerce partner/reseller, Cleverbridge.

That email would contain your license ID & key info, as well as your order number.

If you cannot find that email & don't have a record of your license info, then you will need to contact Cleverbridge, so that that they can look it up for you.

Their contact information is here: Why is my payment processed by Cleverbridge?

If you purchased MBAM PRO on a boxed CD, then the license ID/key information would be somewhere in the box, e.g. on the CD sleeve.

If you purchased MBAM PRO online from a different source -- not the MBAM store -- then you'll probably need to contact the vendor for that info.

(**See below**)

But, just to be clear, the purchased, consumer, home, personal license for MBAM PRO does NOT currently expire or require renewal. :)

If you have a valid license for the consumer version of MBAM PRO, there would be no need to renew it and there is no need to uninstall/reinstall it to activate it.

If you have an expiring free trial of MBAM PRO on the computer and wish to activate it with your new license ID/key, here's how: How to Activate the PRO Version

In the interim, though, please note that the Free and PRO versions work the same way, in terms of detecting and removing malware.

The only difference is that PRO offers real-time protection, as well as several other features (scheduled tasks, incremental database updates, etc).

If you are already infected, then you can use the Free version already installed

>>>I also noticed that you have an open, working topic over in the malware removal section >>HERE<<?

Your helper there will provide free, one-on-one help to guide you through the cleanup process.

That help is free, and one need not have a license for MBAM PRO.

I would suggest that you please stay with your helper there until he gives you the "all clear".

>>If, on the other hand, you prefer to get help from the support team via the help desk, then, yes, you would need to have your MBAM PRO consumer license ID/key and/or Cleverbridge order number information in order to fully complete the web forum >>HERE<<. (**See above**)

>>If you really have a renewable BUSINESS/COMMERCIAL license for MBAM PRO, instead, then the correct link would be >>THIS ONE<<.

Bottom line --

For now, the easiest and most efficient way to get your computer cleaned would probably be to stay with your helper in the malware removal section >>HERE<<.

After you are cleaned up, you can contact Cleverbridge to sort out your licensing issues.

Hope this helps,

Daledoc1.........You are a prince !  I learned from you everything anyone could possibly know about Pro.  I figured it was on or around Feb that I had gotten Pro and anticipated it expiring.  I do indeed need to go as you directed to retrieve the vitals of that license so as to have it on hand when asking for help thru the Help Desk.  BTW........ if you have a place I can deposit a message for you that I think would be handy for you to know, let me know.  I don't want to broadcast it here.

Maybe I did not understand Firefox's 2nd post on this thread:  "Well that is totally up to you, but remember these are life time licenses that can be transferred to another computer if you replace the one its currently installed on. You will never have to buy a license for that once computer again. Other software require you to pay up every year."  Pehaps it could have been better written or am I still confused ?  Could it have been more accurately written if it said   ".....[lifetime] can be transferred to anothe computer if it replaces the one that is currently installed on it."

Would it be accurate to say that PRO can never be re-directed to another computer, like lifetime can be ?

Since one night ago I have d/l lifetime (but not installed it yet)  on to my computer that already has PRO on it, do you recommend I contact Cleverbridge to arrange transfer of the lifetime to a laptop I have which has the free version ?

With respect and thanks for my help, but for all you do at this site !

"princess"  :)

Yes, if you cannot locate the email from Cleverbridge with the license info and you didn't record it somewhere on a piece of paper, then the folks at Cleverbridge will help to look it up for you

You may send me a PM, if you wish.

I will be offline much of the next several days, but will reply when I can.

Nope, I'm afraid that's not correct. :(

Since one night ago I have d/l lifetime (but not installed it yet)  on to my computer that already has PRO on it, do you recommend I contact Cleverbridge to arrange transfer of the lifetime to a laptop I have which has the free version ?

Actually Firefox and I were both saying the same thing & he was quite correct. ;)

I'll try to clarify it better.

PRO & "lifetime" are THE SAME THING when one is talking about the current consumer version of MBAM.

PRO is the paid version of the MBAM software.

"Lifetime" is currently the length of the term of the consumer license to use the paid, PRO version of MBAM.

:excl: Everything below refers to the CURRENT CONSUMER version of MBAM PRO for PERSONAL use on HOME computers: :excl:

When one purchases MBAM PRO, one purchases a LICENSE to use the PRO version of the software.

The license provides an ID & key.

The license ID & key "unlock"/"activate" the PRO features of the MBAM program: real-time protection, scheduled tasks, incremental updates, etc.

So, "MBAM PRO" refers to the version of the software that is active and running on the computer.

"Lifetime" refers to the length of the term of the PRO license.

Currently the CONSUMER version of this PRO license is a one-time purchase, valid for "lifetime".

So, if you purchased a consumer license for MBAM PRO in February (or whenever), it is a "lifetime" license that will not expire and that will not need to be renewed.  It was a one-time purchase.

Now, here's the thing:

Currently, each one, single CONSUMER license ID & key for MBAM PRO can be used on only ONE computer at a time.

In other words, if you have 2 computers, each one needs its own, separate "lifetime" PRO license ID & key.

The licenses for multiple computers can be purchased at the same time (in which case there is a volume discount) -- see here:

How many computers may I install a license on? Do you offer volume discounts?

If they are purchased separately at different times/transactions, then the cost would be the full price (unless one were using some sort of MBAM promotional deal in effect at the time of purchase).

However, a single PRO "lifetime" license can be used to UNINSTALL & REINSTALL the MBAM program on the same computer -- see here:

I need to reinstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware licensed version (and need my key & ID)

(Example: you have problems with the program or you decide to reformat your computer and reinstall everything.)

And, the same PRO license can be TRANSFERRED to a different or new computer -- see here: How do I transfer a licensed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO to my new computer?

(Example: you decide to buy a new computer and will be discarding the old computer; you would uninstall MBAM PRO from the old one >> install MBAM on the new one >> use the SAME PRO lifetime licenses ID & key to activate the PRO version on the new one.)

(The Free version of MBAM does not come with a license. It is free for use on personal home computers. There is no expiration or renewal, because there is no license. It does not provide the added features of the PRO version -- it is just a manual, on-demand scanner.)

I hope this clarifies things for you. :)

Best regards,

daledoc1

Actually, I did reply to him 3 days after his post at which time I said   "Thank you for reminding me.  I will go there...."  [referring to the Help Desk].   I hope my reply (the way I did that was ok).  Shortly after that, I posted to him about the subject of an Order Number, and he replied back to me; after which I replied back to him; he did not reply to me.  Regardless, I followed up on your suggestion and replied again a few minutes ago.  I had gotten taken care of through the help desk.

Thank you for the written bible on PRO and LifeTime.  No excuse anymore for not knowing.  Extraordinary explanation.  Maybe to be included in to FAQ ?

I will PM you.  I didn't know that resource existed.

Thank you, hugely so ! !

OK, sounds great!

You're most welcome.

Good luck!

P.S. As far as adding info to the FAQ: those links I provided are to the excellent Help Desk Knowledge Base topics written by the staff. It is a bit more current than the FAQ here in the General board. :)   I'm told there are some revamps planned of some of the support sections & web sites.  I don't work for MBAM -- I am just a forum volunteer and home user.  So I need to defer to the staff as to "what" and "when" and "how". ;)
