Help required - Search.us?

I am so darn annoyed.  I installed Open Office and in came Search.us that has taken over my FireFox web browser and IE.

 

I have Malawarebytes Pro. and don't understand why it did not prevent this getting into my PC.  I also have AVG (not freebie)  that hasn't even recognised this Search.us as any possible threat.

 

I have no idea how I can remove it.  I've search on the net, but all I'm asked is to purchase other malaware software.  Will Malawebytes remove this unwanted Search.us and return my PC browser to Google.

Malware diagnostics and removal are conducted in a special area of the forum.

With today's ever-changing malware variants & their ability to hide on the computer, it sometimes requires the user of multiple tools for complete removal.

And, even with 10-15 MBAM database updates daily, it can occasionally happen that one can be infected with a new malware variant that hasn't made it yet into the database.
