AOL Email is screwed up?

WARIO

So here's the problem I go in to check my aol email account and everything is screwed up and this is the first time it has ever happened to me. Here is a pic of what it looks like----->

http://i552.photobucket.com/albums/jj333/WARIO1988/blank_zpsb0182af4.png

I can't do a thing the way it is now.....as you can see there is a blank space on the right hand side, well even though I can click on an email once I do so it does nothing and only looks like that blank space on the right hand side.

Also I tried it on Explorer (what a headache that was <_< took 15-30min just to get into the email IF I even got in) and it did the same thing; So I went to another computer (which is where I also verified my email for this site) and everything was just fine!?!?!?!  So what's going on and how to I fix it?

1.  AOL has always been and remains "screwed up" !

2.  Use another Browser.

3.  Use an Email client instead of AOL Webmail!

I thought of that but from how long I have had this email and how many things I have going to that email I would rather not lol. Like I said this is the first time anything like this has ever happen and I have had this email for years that's why i dont get what's going on.

Like I wrote, use another Browser.

However using Webmail is NOT the best way to access email in the first place.  You have more control over your email with an email client and without the quirks of a Browser and its settings.

Hi, WARIO:

I have no experience with AOL, but as DHL suggests, it's certainly possible to switch to an email client.

I have used Thunderbird for many, many years.

They have an article that explains how to migrate from AOL and other programs: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Migration

User forum: http://forums.mozillazine.org/

I for one agree with David, I stay away from AOHell (AOL)....

What you have to ask yourself, what has changed on this computer from before this started? Did you install updates, add any other software?

But I would recommend using an email client as well.....

Yup, perhaps it was a change to your browser settings or something else on the computer that changed?

Having said that, I agree that getting away from AOL is advisable, and I hope Thunderbird works out well for you.

Cheers,

I have thought that over many times and that is the reason why I searched up a forum such as this. Because I have just changed out the hard drive in this computer and have had to download all the stuff back that I had on the old HD to start a new. So I would have no idea what may have changed.

But no worries I'm going to stick with Thunderbird for now on.

Also I sent you a message doc, 1 small question about thunderbird lol

thank you all for the help.

Hi:

In reply to your PM....

Do you only have the one email account?

If so, I think you you can configure TB during the setup wizard and when first opening the program after install NOT to save your account password.

It will then prompt you for the account password each time you open TB and ask it to get mail.

If you have multiple email accounts OR want another way to do it, see the illustration below.

From the toolbar, select Tools > Options, then:

Be sure to keep the master PW written down somewhere safe, for reference.

Although I've been using TB for many years, I'm hardly a "Mozilla Script Kid" or power user.

So, for more expert help, I would recommend checking the Knowledge Base and the boards here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/ (INDEPENDENT user community unaffiliated with Mozilla)

There is also some support here: https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/home

Add-ons here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ (Best to run with default settings and a clean profile at first, until you are comfortable with it)

Program (one of several) to backup your profile: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ (Always good to backup before adding extensions or other add-ons, or before making other profile changes or even before updating TB versions).

HTH, :)

@daledoc1

sense you wanted to reply on here I will go ahead and post the question.

So I been searching online how to log in/out of thunderbird and I did find that I'm not the only one to ask but the only problem is those forums are old and I got the newest edition of thunderbird. So as a fellow user lol can you explain how to set this up so that I log out when I exit and have to log in once I bring it back up?
