[SOLVED] Secunia PSI clash

John A

Recommended Posts

There appears to be an issue with MBAE when Secunia PSI runs.

Windows 7 x 32

I started Secunia PSI for the first time since installing MBAE. It scanned but PSI didn't display results.

Restarted PSI and it crashed with the error below.

Right clicked on MBAE and Stopped protection

PSI crashed again

Could not restart MBAE protection - right click non-functional

Restarted computer, MBAE OK

Removed PSI, installed latest version, same problem - MBAE right click non-functional

Removed MBAE, PSI still crashed

Removed PSI, reinstalled MBAE, MBAE OK

Reported issue to Secunia.

Thanks for reporting John!

This is weird as MBAE doesn't hook any of Secunia's processes. If you are still seeing PSI crash even after removing MBAE, as you mentioned, this might be due to a different conflict, not necessarily MBAE. But we will definitely take a closer look and try to replicate it.

The issue is with Secunia PSI misbehaving when IE11 is installed. Whatever it was doing was indirectly interfering with MBAE

See this thread

https://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/14574/psi_3_0_0_9015_crashing

Rolling back to Secunia PSI V 3.0.0.7001 resolved the issue and MBAE right click now behaves normally
