Windows 8 issues with host

My windows 8 system, using firefox keeps opening web sites that I have not asked for, lots of pop ups.   I believe this is a host file issue, but can not find the correct host file to edit.   it is a 64 bit system.   Does your software address this issue and if not how do I remove this crap from my system?

To answer your question, the host file that you need to look for is located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.

That being said, I do not think its only the host file causing your issue, I suggest you get an expert to help you.
