Hello,

My father said his hard drive crashed and he called someone to come to the house. They said there was nothing they could do but replace the hard drive - which he did. It looks like there was a recent back-up but it's in .win files and I do not know how to restore. Can anyone help please?

yep ...

there are a lot of variables to this type of problem and it is best handled by a person that is familiar with what is going on while sitting right at the machine .

an all to real possible scenario :

you make a mistake or oversight on instructions that you have gleaned from someone somewhere ...

the data "disappears" ...

you get to tell your dad what happened .
