a noob question about exclusions

which files/directories should be added to the exclusion/ignore list?

Only the 'Program Files' directories with security programs,

or also the (sub)directories from the 'Document and Settings' folder

- I mean some programs as Avira or Online Armor which enter

e.g. All Users\Application Data and/or

[username]\Application Data  or  [username]\Local Settings\Application Data

It really depends on the product and the OS involved.

thank you;  the OS is Windows XP Home (just re-installed),

and the basic resident protection is Online Armor Pro, MBAM Pro,

Avira free, KeyScrambler.

I don't believe you need any specific exclusions for the Emsisoft Online Armor Pro and for the most part probably do not need any for Avira

 

There is setting in the firewall for Avira but if you're not using their firewall it may not need to be added.

You might need to add it to Online Armor Pro so that MBAM can go out and get updates without being blocked by it.
