jessica3205 Posted October 8, 2013 ID:739481 Share Posted October 8, 2013 I stupidly downloaded some type of video player that I should NOT have. After downloading it, it added around 8 different programs on my computer. One was the SweetPacks adware. I noticed this because it hijacked my homepage and browser. I immediately uninstalled all programs and got my browser settings back to normal. After doing this I then decided to do a system restore to two days prior. Then after that I downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a scan and after all that it still picked up 18 items. The threats were the following:PUP.Optional.Conduit.APUP.Optional.Desk365.APUP.Optional.OptimizerPro.APUP.Adware.RelevantKnowledgePUP.Optional.BundleInstaller.NSPUP.Optional.RegCleanerProSeveral of these were listed more than once. So I have removed these and I am not noticing anything strange with my computer so far, but I'm just worried there could be some of these threats still lurking somewhere. I use my computer for my work, so it is very important for me to have a safe computer. If I have to resort to just getting everything wiped off and reinstalling Windows I will, but that is last resort. Can someone please tell me if you know of any other steps I can take to make sure I have no threats left on my computer?? I would greatly appreciate any help!!
