Hi, probably been asked before, but I've had a good look through the threads and can't see it.

Can Malwarebytes be made to update on XP from a Limited User Account. When I click the update button, it downloads the update and then attempts to install the new version but stops with a message saying "Needs Administrator Rights to Install". I can switch users to Admin to do this, but it's a pain. Cheers

Two ways to do this. Both use the desktop shortcut or the start menu shortcut.

1. Right click and select as Run As... then enter the Administrator account and password

2. Right click select properties, click Advanced on the Shortcut tab, check Run with different credentials. Again enter the Administrator account and password.

You may also use any account that has administrator privileges instead of the actual Administrator account. This is not a persistent solution though as you'd have to enter the information for each run but it does save you the hassle of logging out/switching to the Administrator account.
