running malwarebytes gives me blue screen of death

It lets me update fine, then I try to full a full system scan but all of a sudden I get a blue screen and then it restarts itself. Why is that happening? My virus protection program scanning seems to be working fine [kapersky internet security]. Malwarebytes used to work but now it doesn't. Is it my hard drive that's having a problem, or a adware? Or is it some glitch in program?
