Malwarebytes hangs during scan

Recommended Posts

Malwarebytes always hangs while scanning the hidden System Volume Information. If I boot in to safe mode it will complete the scan. I have turned off restore many times along with many other suggested fixes. I would be grateful for any help.

Hi,

Malwarebytes always hangs while scanning the hidden System Volume Information. If I boot in to safe mode it will complete the scan.
Please do not worry about that. This may indeed happen with the System restore folder. If you disable system restore, reboot and enable it again, it will be emptied as well, so no need to let mbam scan it again.

Just use the quick scan option in MalwareBytes. There's actually really no need to use the full scan option.

There's nothing suspicious/strange in your log. :D

Extra note... Update your Sun Java, because previous versions are vulnerable:

Updating Java:

  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
  • Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
It should have next icon next to it: javaicon.gif
    Select it and click Remove.
  • Then Download and install the newest version from here:
