Unable to Enable Malicious Website blocking

Recommended Posts

I'm having the same problem. I got the Internet Security 2013 malware while being protected by the pro version.  I scanned and I believe Malwarebytes found and removed it all.  I tried to download the mbam-check.exe and it said it was infected and immediately deleted it.  I started another scan since it looks like the malware is not all gone.  Is there a way for me to fix the web protection module issue myself?  Do you have a program that will fix it or fix it via a registry change?

Hello and welcome, esellers: :)

Until AdvancedSetup returns....

There are several, different, possible reasons for the protection module's not loading.

And each computer is unique, even if the problem sounds "the same" as that with another user's system.

It's also confusing for the staff/experts to help multiple users in one forum thread.

As such, it's generally best to start a new topic, rather posting on top of someone else. :)

Having said all that....

In your particular case, since you mention that you were recently infected, there may be traces of malware or damage from the infection on your system.

I would suggest that you please follow the recommendations in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
A malware analyst will guide you through the scanning and cleanup process, and will help you to get MBAM running properly on your system.

Thanks,
