Question about Trojan.InstallIQ definition

Recommended Posts

I just updated MalwareBytes and ran a quick scan, and it discovered "Trojan.InstallIQ" in an old installer I had in my download folder from a few years ago, for Digsby.

I was going to upload it as a false positive at first but I did a little reading on the IQ installer wrapper and the adware nature of it, and I can understand why it was flagged; this was however downloaded directly from the Digsby site itself and reading up on it does seem to indicate they used it at some point or other.

With this in mind, I assume there's no real risk to the machine as a result of this file having been on here, and I'm safe to just delete it? I don't even have Digsby installed and I haven't for several years.

Also attaching the log in which I deleted the file. There are two files detected here, the reason is that I zipped the executable ready to send for false positive verification prior to reading up some more on the IQ wrapper stuff.

I did a quick scan after quarantining/deleting them and it comes back clean, just wondering if I need to be worried about anything.
