impossible delete of iexplore.exe

I want to get rid of iexplore.exe. I searched for all occurrences including hidden files and system files. I renamed all. Only the one in program files remained there. As soon as I renamed it an other file named iexplore.exe was newly created within say 10 seconds. The same after deleting it. Even with Hijackthis, using the option delete after reboot, it reappeared. How is this possible? And how to get rid of it?

regards, arthur

Internet Explorer isn't like other installed programs. It is a built in feature of the operating system and can't be removed. It also shouldn't be removed because even if you don't use it as a browser, many third party programs rely on it's use internally. It is also required to use Windows Update, which is something that everyone with a Windows PC should do regularly so that they have the latest patches and fixes for their operating system.
