hey there so here goes I was wondering if anyone could help me I use Windows Vista 32 bit and the other day a friend of mine was on my comp, while on there he installed a fake flash codec (dont worry we had a fair few words after), this virus however means I cannot start up my computer in normal mode with a blue screen with the code stop: 0x0000008E, appearing now I have sometimes been able to open my computer in safe mode w/ networking however sometimes then this code appears, I have had no problems in safe mode without networking. I was able to do a dr web cure it search and it did find a backdoor.tdss but this has now dissappeared and the problem is still not fixed. I also did a malwarebytes scan by changing the .exe file and it found a number of infected things however this did not fix the problem and the file C:\windows\system32\gaopdxcounter keeps reproducing itself on start up. I myself am fairly computer literate however I have gone abit rusty over the past few years after going to uni so I thought i'd see if anyone on here could help me, find my hjt and malwarebytes lot attached below. Thank you in advance guys i know you people are very busy oh and I'm able to use the internet on another laptop so I can still download anything that is needed to help myself

Ive also seen that there is alot of them similar problems on this forum which were fixed http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...amp;#entry66861

Hi and welcome to the MBAM forums :(

Please use the following walkthrough as a guide>>>

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=12709

Your CLB variant will have the prefix =gaopdx

Once you have identified and killed the CLB driver please update and run MBAM quickscan.

Please post back the MBAM log from that scan and a fresh HJT log.

Thanks in advance.

Ok well glad to hear it has been nuked :D

Can you please do the following routine before we can sound the all-clear.

STEP 01

Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading ComboFix to your
DESKTOP
:

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

NOTE!!:
You must save and run
ComboFix.exe
on your DESKTOP and not from any other folder.
Also,
DO NOT
click the mouse or launch any other applications while this is running or it may stall the program

Additional links to download the tool:

http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe' rel="external nofollow">

Note:
The
Windows Recovery Console
will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.
Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.
Please continue as follows:
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  • Click
    Yes
to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

  • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

  • Please post the
    C:\ComboFix.txt
    along with a
    new HijackThis log
so we may continue cleaning the system.
