Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted April 12, 2007 Root Admin ID:3574 Share Posted April 12, 2007 Download HostsXpert from http://www.funkytoad.com/download/HostsXpert.zipUnzip it and run the executable. Under the editing tools label, the first button should say 'Make hosts writable'. Click that button. Now it should say 'Make hosts readable'. That is what it should be set to. If it already was, let me know. Try immunizing and restarting now.

Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted April 12, 2007 Root Admin ID:3578 Share Posted April 12, 2007 Phew.. good thing we got it figured out! There must be a setting in SpyBlocker blocking the hosts file. Dig around and make sure that the settings are the same for both. Good job investigating. I knew it had to be one of the programs =). Let us know how it turns out. Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted April 13, 2007 Root Admin ID:3615 Share Posted April 13, 2007 Well SpyBot's resident is perfect for that situation, as long as you accept whatever RogueRemover wants to do to the hosts file. Check out Spybot Search & Destory from www.safer-networking.org

Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted April 15, 2007 Root Admin ID:3665 Share Posted April 15, 2007 Yes, allow all changes to the hosts file by RogueRemover and there should be no conflicts. Glad that you had it found out =).
