impossibility to add certain system folders to ignore due to architecture of add dialog box

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i just wanted to add my start menu folder to the ignore list, since the icons do load so slow when they are scanned.

Even if i set the folder (windows 7 "users/username/appdata" to be exact) to visible it doesn't show up in the explorer view of the add dialog. If the dialog just had a input field for folder/file names the user could use that to navigate anywhere.

Is it possible to include that in a patch?

Greetings and welcome :)

I'm glad you figured it out, however, I strongly advise you not to ignore that folder. It and subfolders of that location are primary targets for modern malware infections and are often used for storage of their executables as well as loading points for them to run at startup on a PC once infected. Adding them to your exclusions as you've done has greatly reduced your level of protection and puts your system at serious risk for potential infection.
