Problems reinstalling the Pro version

Recommended Posts

What's the secret to reinstalling the pro version of malware bytes on a new computer

I used the mbam-clean program to remove the program on my old computer, and when i try to install the pro version on a new PC I get an error saying that "You have entered invalid license information". I'm copying and pasting the ID and a key from a CD that i bought when I first purchased the program,so it's not like I'm not typing it correctly. I've contacted malwarebytes techical support but they have not been helpful at all.

Does anyone have any idea as to how to get around this? For some reason they won't let me reuse my license key.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome, dixie_flyer: :)

Transferring your consumer license is pretty easy.

This KB topic explains how: How do I transfer a licensed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO to my new computer?

I'm assuming that you purchased your boxed MBAM CD from a legitimate source?

If so.....

You need both the ID and Key

They are alphanumeric.

ID: XXXXX-XXXXX

Key: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

If you are copying the info from the CD sleeve, please be sure you are entering a "0", not a "O", etc.

MBAM Tech Support doesn't handle licensing per se.

But I would respectfully suggest that you continue to work with them to sort this out.

In the interim, you might try a clean reinstall from scratch on the new rig.

The steps to do that are explained here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=122284

(You would select Option #1.)

Please let us know if this resolves your issue,
