Amethyst Posted July 27, 2013 ID:707720 Share Posted July 27, 2013 I've got Malwarebytes free on my Windows 8 laptop. I just noticed that the scan results give the name of my computer and then this afterward: [limited]. Is this the way it should be, or what would you Malwarebytes staffers recommend? Should it be run as administrator? On my XP laptop, it does say [administrator].
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted July 27, 2013 Root Admin ID:707722 Share Posted July 27, 2013 You need to right click and choose "Run as administrator" to run with Admin rights on Windows Vista/7/

Amethyst Posted August 4, 2013 Author ID:710815 Share Posted August 4, 2013 Update: I'm still getting the [limited] description in my scan log. I'm running MBAM from a desktop icon. I've tried right clicking and selecting run as administrator. I've right clicked the desktop shortcut, gone to compatibility mode, and put the check in the run as administrator box. I've also tried having the shortcut always run in administrator mode. I'm still getting the [limited] description in my scan logs. I really don't know where else to go from here. I'll try to check back on you some time tomorrow. Please run the following scanner and send back the logs.Download DDS from one of the locations below and save to your Desktopdds.scrdds.comTemporarily disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware ProgramsOnce downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed. Then double click dds.scr or dds.com to run the tool.Click the Run button if prompted with an Open File - Security Warning dialog box.A black DOS console should open and run for a moment.
