"I guess selling all those deeply discounted Noogies didn't help the bottom line, eh?"

hmmm ... it seems like the ceo really got a noogie out of the deal .

or maybe he split before they gave him a noogie ?

I think @DD is a bit too much of a lady to actually call them "NOOK"ies and was looking for a substitute word thinking our rusty, ol' minds wouldn't pick up on the difference between a noogie (rapid, painful knuckle rub of the top of ones head - [edited]) and  nookie.. (ummmm.. how to explain what nookie is and stay within the board's family guidelines... Decisions.. decisions.. dilemma.. :D:lol::P )

Or as SNL's Gilda Radner's character Roseanne Roseannadanna used to say; "Nevermind..." :P :P

hmmm ...

i have always heard the term "loogie" or "lugie" used to describe a wad of gel-like phlegm just below the consistency of chewing gum (color/shade notwithstanding) .

as in "i knew my cold was getting worse when i hocked up a loogie" .

another term used was "lunger" .

a "noogie" was always the use/result of a headlock and the firm back and forth rapid application of a set of knuckles to the victim's scalp .

as for the name "nookie" ... yer right , it is a subject that is best left to one's own research .

beyond that , i shall digress .

(although it would have made a great name for a line of nokia cell phones)

at another forum several of us explain certain phrases , sayings and idioms to those not accustomed to or familiar with the colorful side of the english language .
