I just tried to manually do that NET framework 1 and was told "You don't need that you have an newer version" so why do they continue to have it running in my updates?

.... because I have a problem downloading Adobe Flashplayer in IE8 also

Hi, whonew:

This thread is really more of an "FYI"/news topic, rather than a "help" topic. ;)

If you are having problems or issues with your computer (such as updating MS .NET framework, & updating third-party plug-ins (such as Flash Player)), then it would probably be a good idea to start a new post over in the PC Help Section >>RIGHT HERE<<?

Before you open that post, it would help if you could follow the instructions below to run the DDS scanner tool and include BOTH of the logs it produces as attachments to your new post.

That will give the staff and expert members a bit of info to help start the troubleshooting.

<Just a friendly suggestion> :)

DDS Instructions

Download DDS from one of the locations below and save it to your Desktop:

dds.scr

dds.com

Temporarily disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs

Once it is downloaded, you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

Then double click dds.scr or dds.com to run the tool.

Click the Run button if prompted with an Open File - Security Warning dialog box.

A black DOS console should open and run for a moment.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop
  • Please attach both of the following logs to your next reply: DDS.txt and Attach.txt

You can ignore the note about zipping the Attach.txt file in most cases.
