How to properly uninstall Norton Internet Security?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just recieved my laptop back from repair and they decided to give me Norton Internet Security as a bonus. It's a good program and all but I feel that it's too agressive and too complicated for me so I want to remove it. I tried to remove it via the add/remove button on programs and features but I still saw remnants of it. Also, upon removal it messed up my HP simple pass drivers which forced me to reinstall the drivers.

Since it messed with other programs, I feel like I did the whole removal process incorrectly. Can you please give me directions on how to get rid of it completely, the right way?

Thanks! :D

Hi, somethngcreative:

In addition to RJGoodhouse's suggestion for the removal tool, you might find helpful the information in a recent post by our forum Admin, AdvancedSetup:

List of Uninstaller Tools

NOTE: Please visit the site FIRST and verify any special instructions before downloading and running any automated removal tool. Failure to do so could cause unexpected issues for the computer.

Here is the Symantec site linked in that topic:
