Removing coin-miner macromedia.exe & shell.exe

I've been trying to remove this coin-miner, but I have so far not succeeded.

Please see the attached txt files from the dds script.

I am an IT guy, so don't hesitate to ask me to do some advanced things if needed...

Welcome to the forum.

Please download and run RogueKiller 32 Bit to your desktop.

RogueKiller 64 Bit <---use this one for 64 bit systems

Quit all running programs.

For Windows XP, double-click to start.

For Vista or Windows 7-8, do a right-click on the program, select Run as Administrator to start, & when prompted Allow to run.

Click Scan to scan the system.

When the scan completes > Close out the program > Don't Fix anything!

Don't run any other options, they're not all bad!!!!!!!

Post back the report which should be located on your desktop.

(please don't put logs in code or quotes)

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit from HERE

• Unzip the contents to a folder in a convenient location.
  
• Open the folder where the contents were unzipped and run mbar.exe
  
• Follow the instructions in the wizard to update and allow the program to scan your computer for threats.
  
• Click on the Cleanup button to remove any threats and reboot if prompted to do so.
  
• Wait while the system shuts down and the cleanup process is performed.
  
• Perform another scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit to verify that no threats remain. If they do, then click Cleanup once more and repeat the process.
  
• When done, please post the two logs produced they will be in the MBAR folder..... mbar-log.txt and system-log.txt

Note:

If no additional threats were found, verify that your system is now running normally, making sure that the following items are functional:

Internet access

Windows Update

Windows Firewall

If there are additional problems with your system, such as any of those listed above or other system issues, then run the fixdamage tool included with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit and reboot. It's located in the Plugins folder which is in the MBAR folder.

Just run fixdamage.exe.

Verify that they are now functioning normally.

Hi, I've run RogueKiller.. but it doesn't remove the coin-miner. After the RogueKiller stops (and removes?) it, it returns.

I've run MBAR, but it says my system volume seems inaccessable or encrypted. Scan can't continue. Probably the encrypted part is true, my company has provided the laptop.

They can't help me like you can. They will probably tell me they can reinstall Windows 8 for me, and that's it.

I would very much appreciate it, if we could try to figure out a way to remove the infection.

I've attached a copy of RogueKiller, unzip it and scan the system...post the log.

I would like to see the log in English not Dutch.

You're running W8 and a lot of the tools we use won't run on W8, I'll try the best I can to help you.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to a folder.

• Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  
• Press Scan button.
  
• It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  
• The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same folder as FRST.

Run FRST and click Fix only once and wait

The tool will create a log (Fixlog.txt) please post it to your reply.

Hi MrC!

I didn't know ComboFix didn't run on W8. I installed it because I saw another topic where it was advised (that was of course before I started this topic).

I've run the FRST tool and it came up with the attached log file.

It says it requires a manual reboot, so I will do that now.

I tried to stop the coin-miner process (2x: shell.exe and macromedia.exe), this window came up:
