Unable to activate Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

Hi, Dutch142:

Sorry you are having trouble activating MBAM PRO.

I'm not sure what you mean about copying and pasting user ID and key "off the disk".

Do you mean that you got the info from the registry, as explained >>HERE<<?

Or do you mean that the info was on a CD sleeve from a boxed purchase?

Either way, please be sure you entered the info correctly.

If you purchased online, the ID and key will also be in an email from the reseller, Cleverbridge, sent at the time of purchase.

If you need to retrieve that info from Cleverbridge, their contact info may be found here: Why is my payment processed by Cleverbridge?

(If you purchased a boxed CD version, that info will be somewhere in the box, e.g. on the CD sleeve.)

There are some helpful tips and an instructional video about MBAM PRO activation at the Support Helpdesk.

KB articles:

It says 'Invalid license information' when I try to activate the software.

How do I activate Malwarebytes Anti-Malware?

Do I need to reinstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware in order to activate the product with a genuine license key?

Hi, Dutch142:

Sorry you are having trouble activating MBAM PRO.

I opened the disk and copied it directly from the disk. This info is not printed on the mailer I got but listed in a file on the disk. After reading the info you posted, I sent a email to the vendor. In as much as the old box crashed, I don't have access to the original email so apparently in need of "re-authorization" to re-activate. Whatever that means. Will give them time to respond. Thanks for your response and assist. Dutch

Or do you mean that the info was on a CD sleeve from a boxed purchase? Actually on the disk in a file

Either way, please be sure you entered the info correctly. This is why I copy/paste whenever I can. My old eyes make too many mistakes

Hi, Dutch:

So, it sounds as if you are using a boxed CD version, right?

An MBAM staffer will correct me if I am wrong, but I am not personally aware of any way to obtain the license ID and key directly from a file on the installation CD.

AFAIK, the info can be retrieved from the Windows registry on a computer on which MBAM PRO is already installed (as explained in this link provided in my earlier reply), or from the email sent by the vendor at the time of online purchase, or from documentation in the package (CD sleeve) when purchasing a boxed CD.

Once you have your ID and key in hand, it would be a good idea to record it offline somewhere for safe-keeping, should you ever need to reinstall MBAM PRO or transfer your license to another computer. ;)

Even if you originally bought the program on CD, you'll always want to install the most current version of the software, by downloading from >>HERE<<, followed by activation of the PRO license (using the ID & key) and updating of the databases, as explained here: MBAM Clean Removal Process

>>In any event, please check out the helpful links in my previous reply, especially >>THIS ONE<<. :)

If you are still having problems after that, please post back (and perhaps include the vendor name).

One of the more expert members or staff will likely have some additional advice for you.

Thanks for your patience,

daledoc1
