System Care Antivirus post removal problems

The other day my computer was infected with the System Care Antivirus, I followed the steps detailed here http://forums.malwar...howtopic=125373 to remove it. Since then, however, Windows Security Center Service has been disabled and I am unable to re-enable it, as well as interact with my previously installed antivirus program, Microsoft Security Essentials, in any way. I'm not sure if there was anything else that could have been affected, but I'm hoping there may be someone here that can possibly help me resolve these issues.
