MWB AntiRootkit and drivers ati?mdag.sys

Recommended Posts

Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit found two occurrences that I don't know how to consider:

1) c: \ windows \ system32 \ drivers \ atikmdag.sys (Unknown Driver Rootkit Infection)

2) c: \ windows \ system32 \ drivers \ atipmdag.sys (Unknown Driver Rootkit Infection)

I have not fixed.

In the web I read about people who have had serious lacking functionality of the machine, fixing them (graphics dysfunctional, blue screen, damage to the OS, etc ...).

What do you suggest to do?

Also: MWB Anti-Rootkit does not create any report file?

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

This doesn't appear to be a False Positive here. These appear to be forged drivers, common with certain rootkit infections.

I suggest to follow the recommendations in this pinned topic: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=119858 - A qualified helper will guide you through the diagnostics and cleanup process.

Thanks
