Crafty requesting help from Maniac. XP home problems

Hi.

I'm requesting your help in cleaning up my other machine, a Dell desk top running XP. It has many problems to include extremely long boot times, screen turns off, freezes, various problematic adware and other malicious programs which I think have cleared but with another user repeatedly allowing toolbar extensions in, this is a thankless task. Thank you if you can take the time to use your expertise on this machine.

Apologies to all.

The machine concerned has completely died and I didn't consider it worth it giving it cpr a further time.

Hence, it has been replaced and hopefully I wont be needing your sage advice for a while.
