I'm infected by a regenerating virus

Hello, I've just joined this forum because I recently downloaded a file that I scanned with Malwarebytes, and found had a virus. I tried to delete the virus with Malwarebytes, but afterward, when I scanned again, the virus was still there. I looked at the pinned post about this subject, but I became stuck on step one. I desperately need the file so I'm hoping there's a way to keep the file while killing the virus. Thanks for the help!
