Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicious website

Recommended Posts

I'm receiving the same pop up over and over: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicous website: 46.249.61.91 Type: outgoing Port: 53181, Process: svchost.exe.

There are hardly any breaks between the popups - as soon as one fades another pops up. I went to an IP Address finder and it looks like it's linked to the Netherlands.

I have Webroot as my anti-virus, but although I paid for the renewal it didn't activate so unfortunately I obtained a virus. I did the Webroot scan and it came up with nothing, but when I started my computer there were ads/commercials playing in the background, even when I disconnected my WIFI. I downloaded Malware and it found 10 threats that it removed - reran Malware and it says my system is clean, though I'm not sure why this pop up would keep coming up if that's the case. Here's my most recent Malware scan:

I see you have Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security 2012, Webroot SecureAnywhere and Windows Defender on the system.

Running more than one anti-virus isn't recommended because they only conflict with each other and don't provide better protection.

--------------------------------------------

Uninstall ---->Wajam from your add/remove programs if you can.

------------------------------------------

It's possible that the ip blocks you're seeing is just Malwarebytes doing it's job.

We'll run some scans and make sure that your computer is free of malware and adware.

-----------------------------------------

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit from HERE

  • Unzip the contents to a folder in a convenient location.
  • Open the folder where the contents were unzipped and run mbar.exe
  • Follow the instructions in the wizard to update and allow the program to scan your computer for threats.
  • Click on the Cleanup button to remove any threats and reboot if prompted to do so.
  • Wait while the system shuts down and the cleanup process is performed.
  • Perform another scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit to verify that no threats remain. If they do, then click Cleanup once more and repeat the process.
  • When done, please post the two logs produced they will be in the MBAR folder..... mbar-log.txt and system-log.txt

To attach a log if needed:

Note:

If no additional threats were found, verify that your system is now running normally, making sure that the following items are functional:

Internet access

Windows Update

Windows Firewall

If there are additional problems with your system, such as any of those listed above or other system issues, then run the fixdamage tool included with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit and reboot. It's located in the Plugins folder which is in the MBAR folder.

Just run fixdamage.exe.

Verify that your system is now functioning normally.
