Internet access blocked on x64 machine

Recommended Posts

I am running Windows 7 64bit on a Sony Vaio Laptop.

Some Malware has infected the machine, and prevents any internet access, even though I can ping my home network router, and other machines on the network work fine.

I have tried using AVG to clean the machine, but it didn't find the problem. I cannot update the virus database, because I don't have access to the internet, and when I try to use a USB stick to transfer the file, a message says that the database file is not suitable for installing on a 64 bit machine.

I've tried to install mban, but again, a message comes up saying that the version is not suitable for my 64 bit machine.

Any help would be appreciated.
