another Trojan.Agent.ED!

Recommended Posts

yesterday I updated MWB and scanned, and the program came back with a Trojan.Agent.ED in windows\installer (148b5.msi) and asked if I wanted to quarantine and delete. I said yes. I now have no idea if this was a false positive or not as others are reporting similar occurrences. This afternoon I did a quick scan with MSE, and then updated and scanned again with malwarebytes and nothing was found. I'm not really sure what to do now regarding the file that was deleted, and would be grateful for any advice as to whether I should run any other scans. I have downloaded DDS if you think it necessary to run that.

Greetings and welcome :)

I do suspect that this was indeed a false positive. Please open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and click on the Quarantine tab. Click once on the item 148b5.msi and then click on Restore. Once that's done, perform another scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and if it is not detected, then this confirms that it was a false positive and that the file is safe.
