Audio Latency on computer

Recommended Posts

Sorry for the previous editing glitch. Not sure what happened.

I also have noticed a latency issue that has affected my audio stream of MP3 and YouTube videos. I have used Malwarebytes for several years with no such problems but in the last 6 months or so the problem has increased. Especially when version 1.75 was installed I got many dropouts and several digital stutters that had never occurred before. When MB Website Blocking is turned off the issues clear up. I downloaded the DPC checker recommended by ssoundman and can easliy show the DPC latency problems he suggested.

I know MB has reduced the IP database size as of last week in order to alleviate the XP lockups. Just wanted to let Ron know that this has also helped my audio latency issues. Thanks for your quick response to our problems. I am glad you are looking for longer term solutions to the DCP latency problems

I hope this helps Ron and Malwarebytes to push to find a solution. I love Malwarebytes and hate to cripple it by turning of Website blocking.

Greetings :)

Yes, we expected that reducing the number of IPs in the database would not only help with the XP CPU usage issues, but also with the audio latency issues seen by some of our customers on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. We're optimistic that our long term solution, which involves a complete re-architecture of the Website Blocking mechanism in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, will resolve the problem completely regardless of the number of IPs in the database. It's simply going to take time to develop it.
