I cannot run Malwarebytes, but I can run hijack this

I cannot run Malwarebytes.

I can run Mcafee and it claims to find and detele generic.rookit, but I still have the problem.

Please help!

Thank you. That worked and it did find viruses. However, even after the viruses have been removed it won't allow me to run mbam or any other virus software. It also won't let me connect to the internet. Finally, every other time I re-boot, I get the blue screen shutting everything down.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Avira AntiVir Rescue System

Requires access to a working computer with a CD/DVD burner to create a bootable CD.

• Download the
  Avira AntiVir Rescue System

  here
• Place a blank CD in your burner and double-click on the downloaded file.
  
  
• The program will automatically burn the CD for you.
  
  
• Place the burned CD into the affected computer and start the computer from this CD.
  
  
• On the bottom left side of the screen there are 2 flags. Using your mouse click on the British flag to use English.
