andertrack723,

Do you mind if I split your topic and create a new topic for you so I can provide individual assistance?

Thank you.

i am having the same issue that andertrack723 is, just a black screen with a mouse pointer. I have sent an email in for tech support after trying different boot options that were unsuccessful. No restore points found after trying out a repair disc

I think that the next step for the restore tool is to build a bootable flash drive image that will run the repair tool pre boot

Unfortunately we can't. It uses components of the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware installation itself as well as the installer for our database, neither of which will run in an offline environment.

Did you run the fix tool yet? If not, please do so. Once that's done, check to see if it created a file called 'errors.txt'. That file will list any files it failed to restore. If that file was not created, then you should be fine and the files remaining in quarantine are duplicates. You can spot check a few of them to verify that they've been restored to their appropriate locations already, and if they have, go ahead and try running some of your programs for a while and verify that there are no errors or problems with files missing etc. Once that's done, it's safe to delete the remaining items from quarantine or you may keep them there for a few days just to be sure that everything is again in working order and then delete them.

Ok fix done, and error txt file was created is that of concern?

Check errors.txt and look at the files it lists. Check the locations where those files are supposed to be and verify that they do exist there. If they do not, then they still need to be restored somehow or replaced by reinstalling the programs that use them.

Well there are 6339 files that won't restore and they are not showing up in folders like they should be. is there a manual restore backdoor option somehow. Just clicking on the file and then the restore option has no effect. I have run a microsoft update fix tool and it still having issue pulling updates via normal methods
