File Assassin - Does nothing

I must be missing something here, I downloaded and installed MBAM on 32-bit Vista PC because I heard great things about File Assassin. I have a partition with half a dozen corrupt files that cannot be deleted (0x 8007 0570) because they are corrupt. CHKDSK /r is uselss. Run a DOS box as Admin - useless.

So I click on More Tools> and click on the Run Tool button that appears to relate to File Assassin.

A Windows Explorer type window opens.

I browse over to the affected partition and select a corrupt file.

Click on Open

...and guess what? Can't be opened because it's corrupt. Well I never would have guessed!

There are no other options. No help.

So... help me out please!

You could try using Hazard Shield's file killer. You can drag the corrupted files into the file killer box to avoid opening them with the open file dialog. Secure shredder might help, I'm not sure.

EDIT: You can still use File Assassin, just don't use the one built into MBAM. Download File Assassin and drag a file into the text box. Try File Assassin before Hazard Shield, it works much better

Did you try to take back OWNERSHIP of the files?

How long is the path to these files?

Did you try mapping a drive from another machine to this folder and try to delete them?

File Assassin works for me. You have to re-boot your computer to remove the files, If you don't see a prombt to do so.
