Can't uncheck "start with Windows"

Malwarebytes starts with Windows, which I don't want. I right-click the icon in the taskbar, left-click "start with Windows". The menu disappears and when I right-click it again, the option is ticked again.

How do I disable this option?

Double click to open the program and then disable it from within the program. Can I ask why you would want to do that though? That is what you paid for is protection and if you don't start it then it won't protect the box.

I can't find the option in the program itself, only in the taskbar menu.

I never paid for this program. The nag screen also always pops up when I end the program in the taskbar and it's annoying. I can't remember starting the demo for the paid version. In the program window there's still the button that asks me if I want to start the demo for the full version and I never clicked it.

The option in the program is located under the Protection Tab, it would be the third option down titled Start protection module with Windows.... Probably what happened is when you installed Malwarebytes, in the last screen, there is a check make automatically to start the trial, if you did not uncheck that, then it started the 14 day trial....

If you want to remove all those settings you can try the steps below, and when you reinstall it, make sure to uncheck the Start Trial....

I'm using the program in German and now switched to English. The protection tab still shows me the "start trial" button along with a comparison image for the free and paid version. I simply don't see any option for the startup behaviour.

A clean install will correct the issue you are having, let’s try that and when asked to do the trial, uncheck it.

Reinstalling it without the trial version solved the problem.
