Skype and blocking incoming IP Avira Antivirus blocking outgoing IP

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Recently Malwarebytes blocks incoming IP on a specific port 7264. This is the port in the advanced options of Skype for incoming calls

Most come from China

I could not fine any questions about this in the forum. on blocking incoming IP's from Skype.

Good thing that they are blocked but in my settings I accept only calls from contacts. Is this common?

Second question:

I use Avira Antivirus

Some websites are blocked by Malwarebytes, but I cannot see them blacklisted at any list

Is this a false positive?

Hello and welcome, leon___: :)

Here is a general KB article about MBAM's IP blocking module: What does it mean when I get an IP alert about blocking a 'malicious' site?

Here is a KB article about MBAM's IP blocking module and Skype: Why does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware block Skype?

And here is one about why it sometimes appear that MBAM is blocking your AV: Why is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware blocking my antivirus?

After reading those, if you're concerned because of the IP blocks or other computer behavior, that there might be something else going on with your system (e.g. malware infection), please follow the recommendations in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.

A qualified helper will guide you through scanning your system for possible infections, and any needed cleanup.

Thanks,

Hi:

You are most welcome.

The KB articles explain things better than I could. ;)

If you think that this particular IP block might be a False Positive, please read this pinned topic: IP Blocking False Positives and then please post the requested information in a new topic over in the FP section here: False Positives.

The MBAM staff will research it further and determine if it is a False Positive, or not.

Thanks,

daledoc1
