What security suite for pc?

Comodo Internet Security is a solid, very customizable *Free* suite which I have used almost exclusively for years. It's a tough cookie to get infected due a top notch firewall, great host intrusion prevention (HIPS) and behavior blocker, quick detection of zero day malware through signatures and cloud. My second choice would either be Avira Internet Security *Paid* or Outpost Security Suite *Free*.

Well it could be just a software conflict or it could be damage from an infection but you certainly have something not working well on your computer.

Up to you but I would highly recommend the following.

I would suggest following the advice from the topic here Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and having one of the Experts assist you with looking into your issue.

I ran the uninstaller twice before installing Kas pure.

It does still start up a little slow and the reports menu does not work well, such as when I try to group things by this or that, they just do not group.

Oh, and how do I set the exclusion rules in Kas and MB so that they don't conflict with each other? Or should I even bother with this version of Kas?

It's up to you and I don't mean any disrespect but if you want to fix this then you need to follow the exact steps requested and not be self medicating the computer.

The Event Logs prove that something is wrong. The easiest way to confirm if it's a software conflict between security applications is to remove the current ones and put something else a little less aggressive in place.

My recommendation would be to download Microsoft Security Essentials but don't install it yet.

Then uninstall your Antivirus and MBAM and then reboot the computer.

Then install Microsoft Security Essentials, update it and do a Full System scan with it and if it does find anything let us know.

Then reboot the computer one more time.

After that reboot do the following.

Please download MiniToolBox save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following check-boxes:

  • Flush DNS
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP configuration
  • List Winsock Entries
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
  • List Minidump Files

Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

Note: When using Reset FF Proxy Settings option Firefox should be closed.

Post back that log and I'll take another look at what's going on for you.

Thanks

O_O

I'll start by posting my old DDS logs and new ones in the malware removal forum. Removing everything is a drastic and time consuming step. O_O
