"Warning - You have a security problem!"

Recommended Posts

I have seen similar problems to mine in these logs. I have a red button in my task bar with a white X that pops up a message that has a "Warning" title with the message "You have a security problem!". Then a series of rogue windows continue to pop up on a regular basis.

Here are my logs

Hi. :D

Download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HijackThis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick Combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Seems Symantec is running in the background and has something to do with Combofix.exe not running as shown above. I've tried for hours to disable Symantec's Autoprotect, but it was installed in a locked condition. I cannot seem to disable this program.

As usual, you help is much appreciated.

I went ahead and removed symantec antivirus from my system and ran the full combofix.exe deal. Below is the combofix log and the HijackThis log as requested.

Hopefully you'll be able to put Symantec back on after this. My apologies, should have said something about turning it off.

1. Please open Notepad

  • Click Start , then Run
  • Type notepad .exe in the Run Box.

2. Now copy/paste the entire content of the codebox below into the Notepad window:

AtJob::

3. Save the above as CFScript.txt

4. Then drag the CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe as depicted in the animation below. This will start ComboFix again.

CFScript.gif

5. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), please post the following reports/logs into your next reply:

  • Combofix.txt
  • A new HijackThis log.
