I can not run Malwarybyes in Safe Mode as Administrater , there is now an unknown password on that and I noticed this XP also took on my husbands laptop Toshia main page and don't know why or even how that was possible. I went in to Safe Mode and there is now Admin and Me or two admin and I don't have the password to the one that I believe has control. I looked on line and several people are asking why that is happening for they are the ower of the computers as I am. I had my computer set to go to Yahoo for IE not Toshiba, and now I am perplexed as to why my update put Windows IE8 also, if Microsoft no longer services XP Pro they should not have included a product that won't work and there is no help for.

Hello whonew,

Confirm for me that "this pc" is not the same as the one that Maniac is helping you with. If it is, then stop & stay with "that other" topic.

IF you have MBAM PRO license, you may contact the Consumer Help Desk here.

If you are in an organization or a corporate customer, contact Corporate Support for assistance.

Let me know if you do that.

To go forward here, we must have a DDS log to start with.

Make sure you always Copy & Paste the logs directly into main body of reply box. Do NOT "attach".

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.com here

or http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr or

http://www.infospyware.net/sUBs/dds

Disable any script blocker if your antivirus/antimalware has it.

On Vista/ Windows 7/ Windows 8 do a RIGHT-click on dds and select Run As Administrator :excl:

On Windows XP double click dds to run the tool.

DDS will run in a command prompt window and will take 3 to 4 minutes or so.

Follow and answer the prompts as appropriate.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
  • DDS.txt
  • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please Copy & Paste contents of the following logs in your next reply:
DDS.txt
Attach.txt
Download Security Check by screen317 from here.
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

If you have MBAM PRO license, contact the Consumer Help Desk directly >> here <<.

Otherwise, is there anyone else at your home who can do some of this ?

If not, and there is no shame in getting outside help, consider taking your system to a reputable, local, small computer repair shop { NOT a BigBox-store}.

Or you can tell me what internet browser you use most? Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or .....

IF you cannot get a DDS report-log, I cannot start to help you.

I wish you well.
