Malwarebytes Pro/EOA Not enough?

Hello and welcome, Babattaja: :)

Yes, that is correct -- even with MBAM PRO, you need an AV: Does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware replace antivirus software?

MBAM PRO is designed & tested to run alongside all of the major AVs to provide complementary, layered protection against the sort of 0day malware threats that the AVs can miss.

As far as the selection of an AV, that question has been asked many, many times here & at most other computer security forums.

There are many, excellent options, both free and paid.

The "best" selection depends on many factors of the computer & the user's computing practices.

One of our mods has some personal suggestions here: Free Antivirus Recommendations

On some systems, users find it helpful to set mutual exclusions between MBAM PRO and the AV.

A few examples of popular AVs are in the FAQ; or, feel free to ask and someone will assist you.

If you have a 3rd-party software firewall (and/or hardware firewall (router) + MBAM PRO + a good AV, you should be fine.

No program can guarantee 100% protection.

That's because many computer infections originate between the chair and keyboard. :D

So, keeping your OS updated and patched, your browsers updated and patched, your plugins updated and patched, and your 3rd-party programs updated and patched is critical.

Avoiding filesharing or ill-advised downloads is another key component:

Risks of File-Sharing Technology.

P2P file sharing: Know the risks

There are some other steps, such as using a modified HOSTS file, as well.
