Laminaoui Posted January 20, 2013 ID:636984 Share Posted January 20, 2013 Hi,I've been trying to scan my computer ( winXP) with the new version 1.70 but the program was freezing and stopping analysis after a couple of minutes. I cannot identify the origin of the problem. I thought first because i got a little infection that i fixed with the help of an online decontamination forum.Since then I re-installed MBAM but the problem remains same. One comment i can say is that once the program starts analyzing C: files, the crash happens. Please check the attached print screen to see an example of the crash.Need help please 'cause I never had trouble with old versions of MBAM that i'm using for years now.Thank you
daledoc1 Posted January 20, 2013 ID:636987 Share Posted January 20, 2013 Hello and welcome, Laminaoui:Crashes can be caused by a number of problems. You mentioned that reinstalling MBAM did not solve your problem. So, especially since you mention that you were recently infected, the experts will need a bit more information to sort it out. Please follow the instructions below and post back with the following logs as attachments to your next reply:Checkresults.txt from mbam-checkA couple of protection logs, if you have themDDS.txt from DDSAttach.txt from DDSThese will provide the MBAM staff with a bit of information that will help them to pinpoint the cause and the solution for you. Also, can you please post the link to your topic at the "online decontamination forum" you mentioned?Thanks!daledoc1PS The mod team will most likely move this topic to a more suitable section of the forum. So, don't be surprised if that happens.-----------------------------Step 1 -- Create an mbam-check log: Download mbam-check.exe from HERE and save it to your desktop. Double-click on mbam-check.exe to run it, it should then open a log file. Please attach to your next reply the CheckResults.txt file which should now be located on your desktop. Then, if you can, please also upload your 3 most recent Protection module logs:In Windows XP, these logs are located in: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\LogsIn Windows Vista/7/8, these logs are located in: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\LogsStep 2 -- Run DDS and create 2 logs:Download DDS from one of the locations below and save it to your Desktop:dds.scrdds.comTemporarily disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware ProgramsOnce it is downloaded, you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed. Then double click dds.scr or dds.com to run the tool, on Vista or Win 7 right click and select Run as administratorClick the Run button if prompted with an Open File - Security Warning dialog box.A black DOS console should open and run for a moment. When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:DDS.txtAttach.txtSave both reports to your desktopPlease attach both of the following logs to your next reply: DDS.txt and Attach.txt--->You can ignore the note about zipping the Attach.txt file in most cases.
