How To PREVENT Vista Installing Updates 3/3 Loop?

So this topic is about ANOTHER computer.(Computer #3)

Not Computer #1. Not Computer #2.

Computer #3.

It has not been used for maybe a year and it also has Windows Vista.

Before I turn it on again, I would like to try and prevent the Windows Vista Installing Updates 3/3 0% Loop problem as I do not want this to happen again.

It is an Acer aspire M5640. (Computer #3)

So just to be clear, Computer #3 does not have the Vista Installing Update 3/3 Loop problem..... yet.

I want to try and prevent it before it happens because when I start it up its going to update and want me to restart..... which is where the problem starts.

So I'm asking if anyone knows how I can avoid this problem for this computer (Computer #3) ? Not how to fix, how to AVOID, so it doesn't happen again.

If I was unclear about it please let me know.

Thanks

BTW I was unsure if this deserved another topic since it is about a different computer that hasn't got the problem yet.

If "...it is about a different computer that hasn't got the problem yet" then it is a moot point. Getting caught in a loop while updating the OS prior to the OS fully loading is unique and one should not have an expectation that it will happen on a 2cnd computer. Whatever bug that causes this looping problem on Computer_A will unlikely exist on Computer_B.

Okay, I just read that some people said they disabled the windows automatic updating and just manually update it.

I'll just try that.

I'm sorry I've been annoying on this forum but I think this topic can be closed...

I just think that there may be something on this computer (Computer #1) now, which I should make another topic about but I've made so much already and then they end up being closed (By either my request or the mods) because it was unnecessary....

I don't want to be annoying... Maybe I'll wait awhile before I start a new one......

Or just just try and find out on my own.....
