Running GMER on 32 and 64 bit Systems

Please download GMER from one of the following locations and save it to your desktop:

  • Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs
  • Temporarily disable any real-time active protection
  • It is very important you do not use your computer while GMER is running
  • Double-click on the randomly named GMER gmericon_zps951fd5aa.jpg icon
  • GMER will open to the Rootkit/Malware tab and perform an automatic quick scan
  • If you receive a warning about rootkit activity and are asked to fully scan your system click NO
  • Please check in the Quick scan box
  • Please uncheck the following:
    • IAT/EAT
    • Show All <<< Important

    GMER2new_zpsdd936679.jpg

    [*]Click Scan

[*]If you see a rootkit warning window click OK

[*]When the scan is finished, Save the results to your desktop as gmer.log

[*]Click Copy then paste the results in your reply

[*]Exit GMER and be sure to re-enable your Antivirus, Firewall and any other security programs you had disabled

Note:

  • If you encounter any problems, try running GMER in Safe Mode
  • If GMER crashes or keeps resulting in a Blue Screen of Death, uncheck Devices on the right side before scanning

I downloaded the DDS per instructions, and am told to download something that may cause a blue screen of death?

You know, coming on the forums for help (after no response from CS on a PRO version is sorry enough (seek help elsewhere is what malewarebytes CS is leaving one with. But to be bounced about to download different things is past annoying.

my first: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=121211&hl=&fromsearch=1 and the conclusion of that is the The first thing I did!

I see a TERRIBLE LOOP.

The programs only crash if there are hidden rootkits on your system that cause them to crash. The crash is the way your system protects itself, it doesn't necessarily cause harm.

I have many tools at my disposal if you are uncomfortable using one, then we can try another.

Leaving a hidden rootkit on your system is far worse than crashing the computer in helping to identify it so it can be removed.

It is entirely up to you how you proceed.

You may wish to consider reformatting your computer completely then re-installing your OS from scratch.

Just so you're aware your ticket on the Help Desk was replied to however it probably went to your junk folder, but it was replied to.
