How do I buy Pro from UK ?

Recommended Posts

If I follow the links to buy from the free version, I arrive at the cleverbridge site (https://store.malwar...&x-days=expires), but any attempt to actually buy the software is doomed to failure. There is a cross in a red circle which seems to be replacing the button to add the item to my basket. Certainly clicking it achieves nothing and having filled in all my details, I move to the next page only to be told there is nothing in my basket. It's the same with both Internet Explorer and Chrome.

I have tried contacting cleverbridge customer service, but the first time all they did was give me a telephone number in the USA to ring. My next email extracted the further vital information that the call would not be toll-free, what time-zone they are in and what their office hours are (it makes a difference), but no response to my questions like "is the website going to be fixed" and "can I just send you the money by PayPal" ? Having failed to answer any of my questions other than those relating to how to telephone them, they added "Should you have any other questions please let us know" - I can think of a few interesting ones, but I don't think I'll bother.

Frankly, I am not going to make an expensive transatlantic telephone call and risk being left on hold for 20 minutes listening to wishy-washy music in order to make the purchase - it is simply ridiculous and I don't see how any sensible company could expect me to do that in this day and age when I can buy almost anything from almost anywhere in the world with a few mouse clicks in seconds - but not Malwarebytes Pro. So, is there any other way of buying a key for the Pro version ? Does anyone know if there is a problem with the website coding which is going to be fixed ? I don't mind waiting a while.

Thanks

Caravelle

Hi, Caravelle: :)

Welcome.

Sorry you're having trouble purchasing MBAM PRO.

I'm just a home user in US, not an MBAM staffer, but perhaps try this link:

https://store.malwar...tion=index_page

(There are many forms of payment accepted, including credit cards, PayPal, wire transfer and check.)

(You might also want to check your browser security settings and such?)

Payment for consumer licenses for MBAM PRO is processed through cleverbridge.

Their full contact information - including both email and a website, as well as phone -- is here: Why is my payment processed by Cleverbridge?

If you are outside of the United States please see here for other contact numbers. Cleverbridge can perform Support in many languages: https://store.malwar...2/?scope=cuseco

HTH,

daledoc1

PS If you have more than one computer, please note that there is a discount for multiple licenses purchased at the same transaction :) . (You'll need one licenses for each computer on which you want to run MBAM PRO.)

Just been to the page you linked to out of curiosity. You don't need to do anything with the cross in the red circle. Just fill in the required user and payment information, select any additional options, and click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the screen. From there, you can review your order and click on "Buy Now" ;-)

I agree it's not at all intuitive, but you can see the Total is already pre-filled with the cost of a single copy of MBAM, and increments according to the number of additional copies you might select.

Thanks to daledoc1 but actually the purchase link given just takes one to the same web-page with the cross in the red circle where the payment options etc are all set out. And yes, the full contact information for cleverbridge is at the link shown, but I contacted them through the website as I could do this immediately (it was late afternoon in the UK and I figured that wherever they were in the USA they could respond by email the same day). Once in their system there was no cause to go back to the contact page, I (foolishly as it turned out) trusted them to tell me what to do. I do have another computer with sensitive data on it but it's an android tablet.

Thanks to Deneb who has the answer. In fact I discovered this myself at rougly the same time by looking at the coding around the red circle with "inspect element" in my browser. If you want to add something to your cart you press a big blue button marked "ADD", so to remove something you should press a button of equal shape and size marked "REMOVE". There is no pop-up help bubble when you hover your mouse over the circle. And yes, the total is pre-filled with "1", but (a) it's a very grayed-out looking "1" and (b) that does not necessarily mean that one item is already in your cart. It should mean that pressing the missing ADD button puts one (or however many items you have chosen) into your cart. You shouldn't have to experiment to make a purchasing system work, it's in the company's interest to make it simple. Anyway that's sorted out now, I can buy the software.

But there still remains a big issue with cleverbridge "customer support", doesn't there ? Couldn't they have simply explained in their first email response that the red circle means "REMOVE" ? And after I made it crystal clear that I was in the UK, and asked them about the cost of calling and their office hours, should they not have pointed me to the UK support number or back to the webpage where all the numbers and addresses are set out ? As far as they were concerned the only option was for me to make a transatlantic telephone call. It's just not good enough, if I was not the sort of person who would join a user Forum to find the answer then they would simply have lost the sale to some other product. You volunteers are doing their job for them, maybe you should claim commission.

Incidentally, the reason I am purchasing the software is because I had a bit of ransomware the other day that tried to lock me out of my PC. Following advice from the net (using my android tablet) I booted up in safe mode with command prompt and restored the system to a previous state, which fixed it. I'd rather not have to go through all that again !
