Hi, and welcome, ponching:

Until an MBAM staffer comes along, a couple of things:

1) It's never a good idea to have more than ONE anti-virus installed/running -- otherwise, you can run into clashes, conflicts, hangups and crashes, not to mention INCREASED security vulnerability. The 2 AVs could be interfering with the MBAM installation. It would be advisable to completely uninstall from your system (using the vendor's cleanup tool, if available) either Bitdefender or ESET Nod32. After you do that, you can try the instructions posted below to cleanly reinstall MBAM.

2) If you think you might be infected, the malware might be blocking MBAM from properly installing or running. In that case, you can follow the steps explained in this KB topic: Use Malwarebytes Chameleon to install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on an already infected system

3) OTOH, if you prefer to get expert help with getting MBAM to install and run, as well as with checking/cleaning your system, please follow the instructions in this sticky topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers

HTH,

PS The use of registry cleaners/tweakers/fixers is not advised -- they are of no benefit and can cause serious system damage. Moreover, security products by Iobit are not regarded positively in the security community, so it would be recommended that you uninstall both of those Iobit programs. Your malware helper can assist you with that.

MBAM Clean Install

  • If you are running MBAM PRO, please be sure you have your license ID and key available (sent via email at the time of online purchase, or in the box).

You can also look up your ID and Key from the Registry and copy and paste it to a Notepad document before running the mbam-clean utility.

Location for Windows x86

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Location for Windows x64

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If you cannot locate your registration in the Registry and no longer have access to your order number, you can contact Cleverbridge to obtain information about your order and registration information:
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from HERE.
  • It will ask to restart your computer; please allow it to do so - this is very important!
  • After the computer restarts, download the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE, then temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and run the installer. (Ignore all 'Recommended' or 'Sponsored' software which are prominently displayed on the mirror sites -- they are ads and MBAM does not have any association with them.)
  • If you are using MBAM PRO, you will need to reactivate (register) the program using the license ID & key.
  • Launch the MBAM program and (if you are using MBAM PRO) set the Protection and Registration.
  • Then go to the UPDATE tab (if not done during installation) and check for updates.
  • Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the system tray (if using the PRO version).
  • Now set up any file exclusions, as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications, and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQs HERE, or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Hi:

Thanks for the update. :)

Even if you do get MBAM installed OK, since you think you might be infected, it would be a very good idea to have a qualified malware expert guide you through some additional scans and cleanup, if needed.

(Some of today's nasty malware infections require the use of additional tools and cleaning procdures, which are best undertaken with expert help.)

To that end, I would strongly consider selecting from among the options in this sticky topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers

Good luck!
