windows 8 x64 and malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

Hello and :welcome:

Its a tactic many antivirus companies use to get you to use only their product.

Once you have your antivirus installed and working, go ahead and install Malwarebytes and if you like you can setup exceptions in your antivirus product as listed in the FAQ ==> HERE

As far as I know in Windows 8, Windows Defender is nothing more than MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) and there are no conflicts with running both.

By the way make sure you have both an antivirus program and MBAM installed as MBAM is not an antivirus program and should not be used as your only protection.
